Designed by Sophie Albou, the infamous force behind Paul & Joe which originated in 1990, created this sister diffusion line in 2006 after noticing a gap in the brands already booming market. Paris born and having trained at the Sorbonne and the prestigious Institute Français de la Mode, she then became an influential figure at Azzedine Alaia during its heyday in the 80’s. Originally a Menswear label, she added a Womenswear line in 1995 to great success, resulting in international store openings in the United States and subsequently the United Kingdom. With the label named after Albou’s own two sons, the sense of nostalgia woven into the brand is clear from the outset; infused with an intelligent ‘retro’ approach. The Paul & Joe Sister is mischievous and carefree, pulling it all together with girlie touches, a love of travel and sense of adventure are pivotal characteristics when combining prints, wearability and design reference. With a series of sweet dresses, kitsch blouses and interesting finishes such as ruffles and oversize buttons to garments, this is a range of practical yet perfectly formed pieces.
