Monsoon came up with a strong identity taking ideas from around the world. Designers at Monsoon Accessorize keep the ethnic inspiration alive by travelling to far away countries taking inspiration from indigenous colours and techniques and picking up original fabrics.

Whilst selling woollen coats and hand block printed clothes on Portobello Road, Peter Simon developed a concept: get inspiration from lands far far away. In ‘73 the first Monsoon boutique opened its doors on Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge.Since conception the brand has diversified into - home decor in 1999, girl’s wear in 2001, a boy’s collection in 2003 and finally menswear was added to complement the range in 2004.

Today there are over 400 shops within the UK and over 600 throughout the world. Internationally Monsoon shops span from Australia and South Africa to Brazil, and from Saudi Arabia to Singapore and South Korea. Monsoon has a strong European presence with shops in Spain, France, Greece, Italy and the Republic of Ireland.
