One of the fashion greats, Givenchy has only improved with age. With Richccardo Tisci at the creative helm, designs have taken a turn for the gothic… dark ballerina's tiptoe down the catwalk with innovative structures, beautifully manipulated fabric and an onslaught of feathers. Classic meets contemporary in a wash of dark hues and rebellious spirit.

At a young age Hubert James Taffin de Givenchy found himself speechless when watching the 1937 World's Fair in Paris and from that moment on decided he wanted to work somewhere in fashion design. It wasn't until 1952 that Givenchy opened up his fashion house, having worked alongside fashion heavy-weights such as Christian Dior and Pierre Balmain, his talents were honed to perfection. Givenchy's innovative designs set him apart from the rest of the fashion world and he stood out in a sea of conservative designs.
A fashion coup quickly ensued when a young Audrey Hepburn arrived for a fitting, she soon became the first actress to be the face of a scent and became the first of many muses for Givenchy. Decades of success followed with Hollywood stars clamouring to be dressed by Givenchy, (his designs graced the likes of Jacki O and the Kennedy family), as onlookers stared in awe.
Hubert de Givenchy chose to retire in '96 and handed the reigns over to John Galliano. Since then an onslaught of famous names have designed for the label including the great Alexander McQueen. Today the job lies with Riccardo Tisci who has taken Givenchy to new and exciting levels. Fashion insiders have been impressed with recent collections, confirming that this prestigious label will never go out of style.
