Using his company’s factory as a base he produced a collection of ties in 1968. Instant success: the collection was a sell out. Lauren re-invested the money from his first success into starting up his own company. He soon became the King of US sportswear, where he remains today after 40 years at the head of the Ralph Lauren empire.
