The last of 9 children, Canadian identical twins Dean and Dan had fun tailoring their sister's dresses. The pair retreated into a rhythm of music and fashion within their own world. At 14 they left home to study in Toronto, a world more propitious to their creativity, followed by a summer at the prestigious Parsons School in New York. The hype twins worked for 6 years at Ports, a sportswear company in Toronto, who later filed for bankruptcy. At this turning point of their lives the twins needed to make a radical decision and in 1991 they headed to Milan. The following three years were tough: language barrier, lack of money and credibility.
