The last of 9 children, Canadian identical twins Dean and Dan had fun tailoring their sister's dresses. The pair retreated into a rhythm of music and fashion within their own world. At 14 they left home to study in Toronto, a world more propitious to their creativity, followed by a summer at the prestigious Parsons School in New York. The hype twins worked for 6 years at Ports, a sportswear company in Toronto, who later filed for bankruptcy. At this turning point of their lives the twins needed to make a radical decision and in 1991 they headed to Milan. The following three years were tough: language barrier, lack of money and credibility. In 1994 the Dsquared2 collection launched: sales from this gave the twins investment for their next collection. In 2003 they signed a contract with Diesel. The look is fun, sexy, colourful and still masculine for men who take pride in staying fashionable. “Clothes you want to wear” designed without concessions which can be mixed with basics.
