This Hampshire born lass was all set to go and study English at University when she was model scouted at a festival, luckily for us, she chose the limelight, and after four successful years of posing, became a TV presenter. Loved for her British sense of humour, sarcastic wit and casual irreverence, Alexa Chung left a distraught England behind for New York in April 2009 to launch her career stateside; unfortunately for her, yet luckily for us, her MTV show “It’s On With Alexa Chung” was cancelled later that year, so now we have her back – presenting “Frock Me” with designer pal Henry Holland.
Voted by British Vogue as the best-dressed person of 2009, the words ‘style’ and ‘Chung’ go hand in hand. From magazine covers, to fashion parties or festivals, even having a Mulberry bag named after you, life as uber icon Alexa is pretty sweet. With her own blend of quirky, English eclecticism, she manages to blend high-end Chanel with high street Topshop seamlessly – and single handedly makes any awkward trend cool: brogues, ankle socks and double denim to name but a few. Now working in multiple aspects of fashion journalism, from being contributing editor at Vogue, to having her own column in the Independent – one thing’s for sure, she knows what she’s talking about.
